UK Planning Application Submitted

The planning application has been submitted for the Interconnector Converter Station to be located near Boddam, Peterhead and the High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) Cable route connecting the Converter Station with the planned new Peterhead Substation.

The application was supported by an Environmental Statement, which can be downloaded from the NorthConnect download page, or viewed in hardcopy at the Peterhead and Boddam Libraries or the Councils Office, Arbuthnot House, Broad Street, Peterhead, AB42 1DA.  Alternative contact for a free DVD copy, or to purchase a hardcopy.


The planning application was validated on the 15th of April, the public are being invited by Aberdeenshire Council to comment on the proposals by the 21st of May 2015,  ahead of a decision later this year.  You can also examine the application and make comment online using the Planning Application Register at,  Application Reference: APP/2015/1121 Any person who wishes to make representations about the Environmental Statement should make them in writing to E-planning Team, Aberdeenshire Council, Viewmount, Arduthie Road, Stonehaven, AB29 2DQ. Please note that any comment made will be available for public inspection and will be published on the Internet.
